Walkerton Day Parade August 6, 2005

Walkerton, King and Queen County, Virginia

Due to thunderstorms rolling in very quickly the festivities were cut short just as the queen was being crowned.  Mizpah UMC participated with the cart from Scott's Store and our clown's marching in the parade. Pastor Betty Jo Sims rode in the cart from Scott's Store along with Linda Mitchell.

The Sunday School youth of Mizpah had a little booth to sell drinks and they made $50 to add to their mission fund collection.  Amber and Cassy Hixson and their grandparents Pat and Jim Smith sold the drinks.  We would like to thank those who purchased a drink or also those who gave us a donation.

The parade was spectacular I personally have never seen so many fire trucks in one location before.  It was a beautiful sight to watch.  All the antique cars and other vehicles rolling across the Mattaponi Bridge into Walkerton was very impressive.  We all enjoyed watching the parade.
